Description

In recent years, lawyers are facing new challenges because of artificial intelligence. This challenge is complex because artificial intelligence can be very diverse in terms of technology and can play diverse roles in many different areas of life raising very different risks. At the same time, most lawyers do not fully understand either the underlying technologies or the areas of use, while technologists are not fully aware of the possibilities of legal regulation.

The aim of the workshop is to initiate a dialogue between technologists and lawyers in order to give lawyers a better understanding of what the technologies we call artificial intelligence are and what they are used for, and technologists to get an idea of what options are available to a legal regulator, what problems can and cannot be handled by the law, and in contractual terms, and where the regulation is currently going.

The workshop will feature 15-minute presentations, that promote this dialogue between lawyers and technologists.
