Wolfgang Schüssel korábbi osztrák külügyminiszter és kancellár kezdeményezésére több mint egy évvel ezelőtt indítottuk el a közös gondolkodást arról, hogy miként lehetne létrehozni egy olyan folyóiratot, ami hűen igyekszik dokumentálni és egyúttal serkenteni az Európa helyzetéről, lehetőségeiről és kihívásairól zajló vitát. Célul tűztük ki, hogy különös hangsúlyt kap majd a közép-kelet-európai régió, bemutatva, hogy az innen jövő gondolatok, kezdeményezések miként alakítják az kontinens jövőjét, az Európai Unió működését. Mindezt magas színvonalon, ha kell, tudományos igénnyel, ugyanakkor közérthetően. Így jött létre az European Voices. A három havonta megjelenő periodika első száma 2024 március elején eljutott az olvasókhoz, a visszajelzések alapján már folyik a további számok tervezése, szerkesztése.
Természetesen fontosnak tartjuk, hogy Magyarországon is minél szélesebb körben váljék ismertté folyóiratunk, annak érdekében, hogy az érdeklődő közönség minél inkább be tudjon kapcsolódni a diskurzusba, s így minél inkább hallhatóak legyenek az európai hangok – a maguk sokféleségében. Ennek érdekében hívtuk meg Budapestre a kezdeményezés elindítóját, Wolfgang Schüsselt, valamint az European Voices szerkesztőit, akikkel Navracsics Tibor miniszter, korábbi uniós biztos, úgy is mint az NKE korábbi intézetvezetője beszélget majd.

On the initiative of former Austrian Foreign Minister and Chancellor Wolfgang Schüssel, more than a year ago, we started thinking together about how to create a new magazine that strives to document authentically and foster the ongoing debate on Europe's current situation, opportunities and challenges at the same time. We have set a goal that the Central and Eastern European region will receive special emphasis, showing how ideas and initiatives coming from here shape the future of the continent and the functioning of the European Union. Doing all of this at a high level, if necessary with scientific requirements, but in an understandable way at the same time. This is how European Voices was created. The first issue of the trimonthly periodical reached the readers at the beginning of March 2024, based on the feedbacks further issues are already being planned and edited.
Of course, we consider it important that our magazine becomes known as widely as possible in Hungary as well, in order for the interested audience to join the discourse and thus European voices should be heard as much as possible - in their diversity. To this end, we invited the initiator of the initiative, Wolfgang Schüssel and the editors of the European Voices to Budapest, with whom Minister Tibor Navracsics, former EU Commissioner, as well as the former head of the Europe Strategy Institute of Ludovika University will talk.
