 Guest Professor: Tom Beer

Dr. Tom Beer (born July 26, 1947, in Budapest) is an honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA, elected in 2010). He earned his PhD in 1971 and specializes in meteorology and environmental protection within the Academy’s Section of Earth Sciences . Professionally, Dr. Beer serves as the director of Safe System Solutions Pty Ltd, based in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia  In addition to his academic and leadership roles, he is an active member of the Hungarian National Committee of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand

Dr. Beer’s contributions to science have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the shared Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, the Adam Hilger Prize, and the CSIRO Chairman’s Gold Medal
