We cordially invite you to the Mediatization and Society: Truth, Trust, Technology Symposium, a joint event organized by the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) Mediatization Section and the Science and Society Research Group of Ludovika University of Public Service.
Keynote:
Simone Natale, Associate Professor, University of Turin – AI and the Automation of Deception
Dates: October 9–10, 2025
Venue: Ludovika University of Public Service | Side Building, John Lukacs Lounge (1083 Budapest, Ludovika square 1.)
This interdisciplinary symposium will explore the evolving intersection of mediatization, technology, and society, focusing on how automation, algorithmic culture, and AI systems transform media, communication, institutions, and everyday life. Under the thematic triad of truth, trust, and transformation, we invite contributions that critically examine how technological mediation reshapes epistemic authority, social imaginaries, public discourse, science communication or journalism while also interrogating the shifting boundaries between humans, technologies, and institutions.
The event aims to foster dialogue on the role of mediatization in reinforcing or disrupting trust, navigating post-truth conditions, and envisioning new pathways for democratic and ethical transformation in technologically saturated societies.
The conference language will be English.
The conference will be open to the press.
Detailed programme and abstracts are available on the symposium’s website.
