Hungarian Movie Night: The Witness
Dear Students! 
We are thrilled to invite you to the very first Hungarian Movie Night of the semester, organized by the SU International Committee, ESN, and SHMN! It’s time to cosy up with tea, popcorn, and great company as we watch one of the most iconic pieces of Hungarian cinema – The Witness (A tanú). This dark political satire from 1969 holds a special place in Hungarian film history. Banned for a decade after its release, the movie cleverly exposes the absurdities and contradictions of life under dictatorship in the 1950s. Expect sharp humor, unforgettable characters, and a glimpse into Hungary’s past through an ironic and entertaining lens. Grab your favourite blanket, bring some snacks, and join us for an evening of laughter, culture, and reflection together!
