LUDOVIKA FESZTIVÁL 2023-BAN IS
2023-ban május 11. és 13. között széles programkínálattal, hivatásrendi bemutatókkal, koncertekkel és Ludovika Szabadegyetemi előadásokkal várja az NKE az érdeklődőket a Ludovika Campuson. A három napon át tartó rendezvény programkínálata a hagyományokat követi: zene, tánc és a hivatásrendek bemutatói mellett újra érdekes előadásokkal, beszélgetésekkel várjuk a látogatókat május 11-én és 12-én.
A programterv összeállításánál továbbra is az egyetem kutatásaira, a képzések keretében elérhető tudásanyagra, valamint a közéletet tematizáló fontos témákra építettünk, amelyre korunk meghatározó hazai és nemzetközi szereplőit kérjük fel.
John O' Sullivan - Danube Institute elnöke
Szerkesztő és rovatvezető, a washingtoni National Review Institute vezető munkatársa. Korábban a National Review szerkesztője, a London Times társszerkesztője, a Hudson Intézet főmunkatársa és Margaret Thatcher tanácsadója is volt.
Dr. David Martin Jones - a Danube Institute kutatási igazgatója
David Martin Jones, a Danube Institute kutatási igazgatója. A King’s College és a University of London vendégprofesszora és háborús tanulmányok tanára, valamint a londoni University of Buckingham tiszteletbeli vendégprofesszora. A London School of Economics-ban szerzett diplomát, és tanított a National University of Singapore-on, a University of Tasmania-n és a University of Queensland-en. 11 könyv szerzője és társszerzője, melyek jelentős szakmai kiadók gondozásában jelentek meg. Legutóbbi publikációi közé tartozik a History’s Fools, The Pursuit of Idealism and the Revenge of Politics (2020) és a The Strategy of Maoism in the West (2022). A politikai fejlődésről és a politikai erőszakról szóló esszéi többek között az International Affairs, a Comparative Politics, az Orbis, a Quadrant, az International Security, a The National Interest és a The Critic című kiadványokban jelentek meg.
Dr. Baranyi Tamás - a Magyar Külügyi Intézet stratégiai igazgatóhelyettese
Dr. Baranyi Tamás 2010-ben szerzett diplomát az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetemen történelem és amerikanisztika szakon. 2011-től 2015-ig a Terror Háza Múzeumban dolgozott, három évig kutatási vezetőként. 2018-ban védte meg doktori disszertációját az ELTE-n. 2015 és 2020 között az Antall József Tudásközpont kutatási vezetője volt. 2013 óta több felsőoktatási intézményben oktat geopolitikai kurzusokat. 2020 februárja óta a Magyar Külügyi Intézet stratégiai igazgatóhelyettese.
Moderátor: Kiss István - a Danube Institute ügyvezető igazgatója
Politológus és nemzetközi kapcsolatok szakértő. Tanulmányait a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetemen és az Edinburgh-i Egyetemen végezte, jelenleg a PPKE-n írja doktori disszertációját. 2013 és 2018 között a Századvég Alapítvány kutatója, majd vezető kutatója. 2018 és 2020 között a Miniszterelnökség politikai tanácsadója.

John O' Sullivan – President, Danube Institute
Mr. O’Sullivan is President and founder of the Danube Institute in Budapest, international editor of Quadrant Magazine in Sydney, Australia; associate editor of the Hungarian Review; a fellow of the National Review Institute and editor at large of National Review. He is a co-founder and director of Twenty-First Century Initiatives as well as the International Reagan Thatcher Society. He served as a Special Adviser and speechwriter to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He was the founder and co-chairman of the New Atlantic Initiative, launched at the Congress of Prague in May 1996 by President Vaclav Havel and Lady Thatcher. It played a major role in bringing the countries of Central and Eastern Europe into NATO. His book, "The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister," on the roles played by Pope John Paul II, President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher in the collapse of communism and the revival of Western market democracies, has been published in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Czech, Polish, Italian, and Hungarian.
David Martin Jones - Director of Research, Danube Institute
David Martin Jones is a Visiting Professor and teaching fellow in War Studies at King’s College, University of London and Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of Buckingham. He graduated from the London School of Economics and has taught at the National University of Singapore, the University of Tasmania, and the University of Queensland. He has authored and co-authored 11 books with major academic presses. His most recent publications include History’s Fools, the Pursuit of Idealism and the Revenge of Politics (2020) and The Strategy of Maoism in the West (2022. His essays on political development and political violence have appeared inter alia in International Affairs, Comparative Politics, Orbis, Quadrant, International Security, The National Interest and The Critic.
Tamás Baranyi - Deputy Director for Strategy, Institute for foreign affairs and trade
Baranyi Tamás has received his MA degree in History and American Studies at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest in 2010. From 2011 he has worked at the House of Terror Museum as a historian, then, from 2012 to 2015 as Head of Research. He defended his PhD thesis in 2018 at the Department of Modern and Contemporary History at Eötvös Loránd University about the changing elbow-room of Hungrian foreign policy during the era of détente. From 2013 to 2019 he was external lecturer at the same department. From 2015 to 2020 he was Head of Research of the Antall József Knowledge Centre. From 2019 he is Adjunct Professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. From February 2020 he is Deputy Director for Strategy at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade. His research area are the history of the United States and the Cold War, foreign political strategy, and transatlantic relations.
Moderator: István Kiss - Executive Director, Danube Institute
István Kiss is a political scientist and an international relations expert. He has earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and at the University of Edinburgh. Currently he is working on his PhD at his alma mater. From 2013 to 2018 he worked at the Századvég Foundation first as a Research Fellow then as a Senior Research Fellow. Formerly, he worked as a Political Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office of Hungary.
